A celebration of inner silence!

On August 24th a small group of Sivapithans (literally those who are mad about Siva) gathered at Sivapuri, the samadhi kshethra of Siva Swamigal. The day happened to be a Sunday and Amavasya - a perfect opportunity to spend some time serving Siva! On the previous day, a few Sivapithans had involved themselves in an intensive inner process to prepare Vibhoothi for Siva's pooja purposes. In over 9 hours of silence, they immersed themselves in chanting, a homa (fire offering) and other meditative processes to setup the necessary conditions for preparing high quality vibhoothi. To share their joy and inner experience, Annadanam (a sacred offering of food) was conducted in the auspicious premises of Siva's samadhi. Here are some glimpses from the day.
